A lot of this blog comes from The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander. This ground breaking book gives us the foundation to talk about she calls "Mass Incarceration" she is clearly on point. She argues, and I agree, that incarceration is simply a tool of keeping black people in line after Jim Crow.
